How I Built My First Mobile Game: Color Cars: Rush

Developing a mobile game has always been a dream of mine, but actually finishing one felt impossible for many years. This year, I finally pushed myself to build something simple, fun, and fast—something that would prove to myself that I can create and ship a real game.

That game became Color Cars: Rush, a quick-reaction color-matching runner where you switch lanes and hit only the correct color blocks while avoiding the wrong ones. It’s small, simple, but it represents a huge milestone for me as a developer.

The Development Journey (Oct 28 – Nov 5, 2025)

Everything started on October 28, 2025. I didn’t plan for it to be big. I just wanted a project I could finish.

I focused on:

  • Basic movement and lane-switching

  • Color-matching gameplay

  • Smooth difficulty scaling

  • Simple UI + sounds

  • Lightweight performance for low-end devices

In just 9 days, I completed all core features. No overthinking. No perfectionism. Just building, testing, and improving as fast as I could.

By November 5, 2025, the game was fully playable and ready for submission.

It became the fastest project I’ve ever completed—proof that momentum is everything in game development.

Submission & Approval (Approved Nov 26, 2025)

After polishing the gameplay and fixing small bugs, I submitted the game to both platforms.

  • Google Play submission was straightforward.

  • Apple App Store took a bit more time due to stricter guidelines.

  • And after waiting, revising, and hoping…

Color Cars: Rush was officially approved on November 26, 2025.

Seeing the “Ready for Sale” status felt surreal.
A small idea I started in late October was now a real, published mobile game.

Testing: 12 Users in 14 Days

Before launch, I opened internal testing to gather early feedback.

Over 14 days, 12 testers tried the game on Google Play. Their feedback helped me improve:

  • Collision accuracy

  • Color contrast

  • Bonus speed balance

  • UI clarity

That small group of testers became a huge part of the game’s final polish.

The Final Game

Color Cars: Rush is a hypercasual mobile game where:

  • You match your car’s color with the correct lane

  • You dodge obstacles and build speed

  • You aim for the highest score possible

  • It becomes faster, harder, and more intense over time

Simple to play. Hard to master.
Perfect for quick sessions.

What This Game Means to Me

Color Cars: Rush isn’t a AAA title or a massive production, but it’s something more important:

It’s my first published game.
It’s proof that consistency beats perfection.
It’s the foundation for every game I will build after this.

This journey taught me:

  • How to submit to both app stores

  • How to fix compliance issues

  • How to balance gameplay

  • How to test with real users

  • How to finish what I start

Now I’m already working on my second game — and everything feels less intimidating.
